Why I Finally Decided to Start This Blog

The Courage to Begin

I’ll be honest, starting this blog was never something I imagined myself doing. The idea of putting my thoughts out into the world felt uncomfortable, maybe even a little bit intimidating. Writing publicly means being seen, and with that comes the fear of judgment, that someone might form an impression of me based on a single post and assume that is my entire character.

I’ve always been drawn to people who create and share so freely, bloggers, YouTubers, writers, or even those who post thoughtful reflections and insights on LinkedIn. There’s just something courageous about putting your perspective into the world, knowing not everyone will understand it. Deep down, I think I’ve always wanted to do the same. Not out of competition, but out of curiosity, and maybe a quiet desire to stretch beyond what feels comfortable.

For years, I’ve told myself to just go for it. Every time I’ve stepped outside my comfort zone, I’ve grown. It’s how I’ve found myself in so many different roles over the years, as a managed care pharmacist, consultant, real estate agent, and even an occasional speaker at educational events and podcasts. Each of those experiences pushed me to show up in new ways, to keep learning, and to keep improving. The common denominator through it all has always been curiosity, a willingness to explore what else might be possible.

So why was this, writing, sharing, and creating so hard to start? Well, it was just me. My own self-doubt. My own hesitation to be seen.

I came across a YouTuber who said something that shifted my perspective completely: “Just start your channel, blog, or site, because honestly, no one’s going to see it at first anyway.” It sounds funny, but it really did take all the pressure off. I realized I didn’t need everything to be perfect or polished. I just needed to begin.

And so, here we are, my own little corner of the internet. Maybe no one will read this, and that’s okay. Because even if it’s just me here, reflecting and writing, that’s already a win. This space is my personal experiment, a place to learn, create, and explore things that really mean to me.
